The recommendations here are general in nature and cannot be applied to individual patients without the judicious use of the treating physician’s judgment. Its author is Dr. Alejandro Soza, a hepatologist and professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

Independence and funding

This site shows no advertising and contains no third-party ads. Its content is educational and its sole purpose is to inform patients and their families. No article is sponsored or influenced by commercial interests. The author’s conflict-of-interest statement is available on the site.

Content review

Articles are written and reviewed by Dr. Alejandro Soza based on current clinical guidelines and peer-reviewed medical literature. When an article has been clinically reviewed, it shows the review date. The references cited at the end of each article correspond to real, verifiable sources.

Privacy and confidentiality

The privacy of our visitors matters. Emails we receive are treated confidentially, and the addresses of newsletter subscribers are never shared, sold or disclosed to third parties. Newsletter subscription is voluntary, requires email confirmation (double opt-in) and can be cancelled at any time.
